What is on the TEAS? Topics per section
- Reading: main idea and details, author's purpose, fact versus opinion, text structure, word meaning in context, following directions, and reading tables and schedules.
- Math: fractions, decimals and percentages, ratios and proportions, solving equations, word problems, unit conversions (metric and US), area, and mean and median. A calculator is built into the real exam.
- Science: the largest section, with a strong focus on anatomy and physiology (heart, lungs, kidneys, nervous, endocrine, digestive, immune, muscular and skeletal systems), plus cells, genetics, chemistry and scientific reasoning.
- English and language usage: spelling, punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, formal style, and vocabulary from context and word parts (prefixes and suffixes).
The questions on this page are original practice questions based on ATI's public TEAS 7 content outline, not real TEAS questions.
What is a good TEAS score?
There is no universal passing score. Each nursing or allied health school sets its own cut score, often for the total and sometimes per section, so check the programs you apply to. ATI reports your percentage score and an Academic Preparedness Level: Developmental, Basic, Proficient, Advanced or Exemplary. ATI says schools will most likely want applicants at Proficient or above, and competitive programs often look for more.
After each MyLevel test you see your score per section and an indicative band that borrows these level names. It is a guide for your practice only and does not convert to an ATI score.
How to study for the TEAS
- Take the free questions, then one full test to find your weakest section.
- Spend most time on science, and within science on anatomy and physiology: it is the biggest section and often the lowest score.
- Learn the math conversions and the dosage proportion by heart; practise without rushing, then under time.
- Read every explanation, also for questions you got right, and retake the second full test a week before your exam.
- ATI recommends at least 6 weeks of preparation.
The full pack costs $9.99, one time: two full 58-question tests, explanations, a score per section and a practice certificate. No subscription. One purchase also unlocks every other MyLevel job test.
MyLevel is independent and not affiliated with, or endorsed by, ATI (Assessment Technologies Institute) or any nursing school. TEAS is a trademark of ATI. All questions are original practice questions based on the public TEAS 7 content outline, not real test questions.

Frequently asked questions
How many questions are on the ATI TEAS 7?
170 questions in 209 minutes: reading 45 (55 minutes), math 38 (57 minutes), science 50 (60 minutes) and English and language usage 37 (37 minutes). 150 are scored and 20 are unscored pretest questions.
What score do I need to pass the TEAS?
There is no single pass mark. Each school sets its own cut score, so check your program. ATI says schools most likely want applicants at the Proficient level or above.
Is the TEAS test hard?
Many applicants find the science section hardest, because it covers a lot of anatomy and physiology, and the time is tight: about 74 seconds per question on average. Timed practice with explanations helps you find and fix weak topics.
Are these the real TEAS questions?
No. These are original questions written by MyLevel on the topics in ATI's public TEAS 7 content outline. Real TEAS questions are not published, and no site can legally offer them.
What do I get for $9.99?
Two full timed practice tests of 58 questions each, mixed across reading, math, science and English, an explanation for every answer, a score per section and a practice certificate. It is a one-time payment, no subscription, and it also unlocks every other MyLevel job test.
Can I unlock only this test?
Yes. Under the pack button you can unlock only the full tests on this page for $3.99, one time. The $9.99 job pack unlocks every MyLevel job test. Both are one-time payments with no subscription.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. After a full practice test you can download a MyLevel practice certificate (PDF) with your score. It is a personal record of your practice, not an official document or a TEAS score.
