What is the CCAT?
The Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT) is a pre-employment test many employers use to measure problem solving, learning ability and critical thinking. It has 50 multiple-choice questions and a 15-minute time limit, which works out to about 18 seconds per question. Very few people finish all 50.
What does the CCAT test?
- Verbal ability: analogies, antonyms, sentence completion and attention to detail.
- Math and logic: word problems, percentages, number series, tables and deduction.
- Spatial reasoning: next figure in a series, odd one out and 3×3 matrices.
What is a good CCAT score?
Your score is the number of questions you answer correctly out of 50. The commonly reported average is about 24. Many employers look for 30 or more for professional roles and 35 or more for analytical roles, but every employer sets its own cut-off.
How to raise your score
- Practise under time pressure. Speed matters as much as knowledge.
- Skip questions that cost you more than about 30 seconds, and come back if there is time. There is no penalty for a wrong answer, so never leave one blank.
- Learn the patterns. Number series and matrix questions repeat the same few rules.

Frequently asked questions
How many questions are on the CCAT?
The CCAT has 50 multiple-choice questions with a 15-minute time limit. Our full practice tests use the same format.
What is the average CCAT score?
The commonly reported average raw score is about 24 out of 50. Scores above 30 are generally considered strong, but each employer sets its own requirement.
Can I use a calculator on the CCAT?
You may use scratch paper and a basic calculator. The questions are designed so that most of them can be solved quickly without one.
Is a wrong answer penalised on the CCAT?
No. Your score is the number of correct answers, so it is better to guess than to leave a question blank.
What do I get for $12.99?
Two full timed 50-question CCAT-style tests and two retail and warehouse assessments, each with an explanation for every question and your score compared with commonly reported cut-offs. It is a one-time payment with no subscription.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. After each full practice test you can download an official-looking MyLevel certificate (PDF) with your name, score, certificate number and a QR code that links to a public verification page. It is a MyLevel practice certificate, not a certificate from Criteria Corp. or an employer.
Are these the real CCAT questions?
No. All MyLevel questions are original practice questions written in the same style and format. We never sell real test questions or answers.
